Sierra Wireless AT&T Lightning USB Aircard Modem

AT&T is a well known organization in the field of telecommunication. They have been offering several services like wireless, cell phones, digital TV, home phone, DSL, high speed internet connections and more. The USB connect lightning Aircard Modem is the latest service to get added to the AT&T line of mobile broadband modems. Sierra Wireless is the creator behind this product and is also referred to as Sierra Wireless USB305. Among the several HSUPA/HSPA modems, these USB Aircard lightning modems from the AT&T line are the first to support downloads at 7.2Mbps and uploads at 5.76Mbps. This speed is however possible in theory as the data transfer rates is more dependent on your network. It can be slower than the stated speed if your network is not supporting it.

The lightning USB modem is in itself a very attractive and compact piece in glossy black color. The unit is of dimensions 3.1” x 1.4” x 0.5” and weighs 1.6oz which makes it a very light product. The unit can be rotated in two axes, thanks to the ultra flexible and swivel hinge. This means you can fit this modem easily into any small space and also at places where there are more than a port located closely. Orientation can be optimized to the best strength in signal by using this unit for multiple orientations. The AT&T lightning USB Aircard modem also features an integrated micro SD slot to insert SDHC cards and you can use up to a 32GB card in it. In case, you don’t have any contract with AT&T wireless currently, then you may have to get one. This product is designed to work with AT&T wireless and that is a guarantee. While it can be used with other GSM, you would need a code to do so.
